Kathisma Beach is a large stunning white pebble sand beach on the beautiful West Coast of Lefkada Island, with spectacular azure and turquoise waters and incredible sunsets. It is one of the most well known and popular beach resorts in Lefkada Island, and during the peak summer months the beach is lively and partly organised with sun loungers and umbrellas serviced by a number of taverna’s and beach cafés/bars. For adrenaline junkies there are also professional paragliding operators offering spectacular flights over the bay.

The access to the beach is through the main road and it would take around 15 minutes to walk to the beach or alternatively a very short 2 minute drive!

Kathisma Beach is also situated a short 3 mins drive from the prettiest fishing village in Lefkada; the village of Agios Nikitas, with its numerous tavernas and café/bars. Also it is only a 15mins drive from Lefkada Town, the Island’s main centre.

LEFKADA
The island with the most stunning beaches
Lefkada is the fourth largest Ionian island and is popular but still relatively untouched, offering stunning coastline and beaches with a mountainous pine clad interior, charming character villages, vineyards and great tavernas, café’s and bars. The east coast is more developed and populated with pretty coastline overlooking the island gulf while the west coast is less developed and has an untouched dramatic coastline with stunning vistas.

For the active-types the island is also a sailing and water sports mecca, with world-class sailing, windsurfing and kite surfing. Other popular activities include scuba diving, paragliding, hiking and mountain bike tours. Hiring a small powerboat or sailing yacht or taking a boat cruise on the east coast to explore the many bays and islands in the Gulf is a highly recommend day excursion.

BY PLANE
From Aktion/Preveza Airport (PVK)
A 35minute drive to Kathisma Bay Villas from Aktion/Preveza Airport.
UK Low Cost Scheduled and Charter Direct Flights- Easyjet / British Airways / Thomson/ and many other charter airlines servicing different European cities
From Corfu Airport (CFU) / Corfu island
Option 1: A 1.5hr car ferry ride from the town of Corfu to Igoumenitsa port and then a 2hr drive from the port of Igoumenitsa to Lefkada
Option 2: A 25 minute domestic flight from Corfu Airport to Preveza Airport (where you can rent a car from/drop the rental car off upon return) followed by a 35minute drive to Kathisma Bay Villas.
From Athens Airport (ATH)
A comfortable 4hr drive from Athens via the Rio-Antirio bridge. A good alternative route to reach the island of Lefkada which is connected by a bridge. Athens has numerous daily flights from several European destinations.
Alternatively there are direct flights from Athens to Preveza airport

A 4,5hr drive on the Egnatia motorway.
From Northern Greece / the Balkans
A 2.5hr drive from Ioannina, reachable via the Egnatia motorway.
From / via Italy
Ferries depart from Venice, Ancona, Bari or Brindisi to Igoumenitsa. From the port of Igoumenitsa Lefkada is reachable by road (distance 95 km).

Flights to Preveza/Corfu/Kefalonia/Athens

Lefkada is very accessible as it is the only island in Greece connected by a bridge to the mainland (so no need for ferries)! This makes getting to Lefkada very easy and provides several options for the traveller.
Preveza-Aktio Airport is the nearest airport to the island, less than 20 minutes away servicing many direct European scheduled and charter flights from May to October. Flying to Corfu is another option, which would also require a relatively short ferry ride to get to the mainland.
Finally flying to Athens or Thessaloniki would also work for those that would like to check out any of these cities before heading to Lefkada.
